10 Things to do in Benidorm.

10 essential places to see in Benidorm

This list of the best places to see in Benidorm will help you prepare your visit to this tourist city on  the Costa Blanca, making the most of your time.
Small fishing village until the 60s, this city has been transformed based on imposing skyscrapers to become one of the best known holiday destinations in Europe thanks to the sun, the beach and a leisure offer available 24 hours a day. One of the
great attractions of the city is its good climate for much of the year and its wide and clean beaches, something that allows you to visit it outside the high season and enjoy its main points of interest with more tranquility than in the summer months. In addition, if you go with children, it has huge complexes and activities focused on families and several theme parks such as Terra Mitica and Aqualandia.
Although we must bear in mind that in summer it is not an ideal place for those looking for a relaxed holiday, especially with the arrival of young people from all over Spain and  Europe, who invade the city in search of party in its many discos and nightclubs.
Based on the experience of the times we visit  this city, where we often pick up our clients, who of course admire the beauty of this city and therefore look for a home to reside their holiday seasons or also their habitual residence. In our luxury housing department you can www.housedeluxe.es find all kinds of variety of homes that are located in the Benidorm area  and also along the entire Costa Blanca.
Let's start with those 10 places that housedeluxe recommends to its clients.
1. Old Town
Walking through the narrow streets of the Old Town, located on Punta Canfali and the core of the old fishing village, is one of the best things to do in Benidorm.
A route through this neighborhood can start looking for a map in the tourist office of Plaza Canalejas and continue with the visit to the Church of San Jaime and Santa Ana, the oldest in the city and where the beloved image of the Virgen del Sufragio.Al leave the church you can approach the viewpoint of Sant Jaume overlooking the Levante Beach and go up to the Castelar Square that has a large anchor and views of the beach of Poniente.Si you continue climbing you will reach the Plaza de Santa Ana, flanked by four iron cannons that belonged to the old castle, and the Plaza del Castillo through which you access the Balcony of the Mediterráneo.Al go down you can approach the Plaza de la Señoría that has the Monument to the Dead Sailors in the Sea and get lost in the narrow streets of the old quarter like the Costera del Barco, until you reach the pedestrian Alameda street, perfect for a drink in one of its many bars.

2. Balcony of the Mediterranean

The Balcony of the Mediterranean or Mirador del castillo, which is reached by a beautiful staircase from  the Plaza del Castillo, is the most emblematic place to see in Benidorm.
From this construction made of white stone and located on a small rocky cliff that separates Playa de Poniente and Playa de Levante, you will enjoy incredible panoramic views of  the city's skyline,  beaches and the Mediterranean Sea, as well as being a perfect place to watch the sunrise and sunset.

3. Benidorm Beaches

One of the best things to do in Benidorm is to take a refreshing dip in one of its best beaches and coves.
The closest to the center are the wide beaches of fine golden sand of Levante and Poniente, located on both sides of Punta Canfali and which have all the services.
Between these two beaches is the small and beautiful Cala de Mal Pas, although to find a little more tranquility and a hole on the seafront, you will have to approach Cala del Tio Ximo and  Cala Almadrava, located at the northern end and perfect for snorkeling.

4. Mirador de La Cruz, one of the places to see in Benidorm

Although from the Balcony of the Mediterranean you will have fantastic views, to have the best panoramic view of the city you will have to climb to the viewpoint of the Cross of Benidorm.
Converted into another of the  essential places to see in Benidorm, this viewpoint located at 217 meters of altitude at the highest point of the Serra Gelada Natural Park, offers a spectacular view of the city, the coast and its mountains, especially during the sunset, when the light reflected on the sea offers a magical moment.
As a curiosity, at the top of the viewpoint you can see a cross that was placed by the Franciscan friars in 1961 to free the city from sins and its new customs, such as the use of the bikini.
You can walk up to the viewpoint from the area of Rincón de Loix in about 40 minutes, by car or by booking this tourist train that runs through the main points of interest of the city.

5. Benidorm Markets

Another of the places to visit in Benidorm are its most popular markets that will help you take the pulse of the city and enjoy a unique atmosphere.
One of the most famous is the Rincon de Loix market, located on an esplanade next to the Hotel Pueblo and open Wednesdays and Sundays from 8am to 2pm and is perfect for buying quality clothes and fresh products, as well as having an appetizing churros stall.

city in summer you can visit the picturesque market Les Nits del Castell, located in Benidorm Castle and full of craft and painting stalls.

Another of the places to see in Benidorm perfect to spend a fun day with friends or family are its Theme Parks.
Among the best are:
·       Aqualandia: one of the largest water parks in Europe with fast slides and large swimming pools, suitable for all types of public.

·       Terra Mitica: set in the cultures of Egypt, Rome and Greece, in this park you will release adrenaline on its roller coasters and enjoy different shows.
·       There are other parks such as Aqua Natura, Terra Natura or Mundomar, which use animals for profit and therefore we can not recommend since we believe, do not encourage responsible tourism in any case.

7. Eating paella, one of the best things to do in Benidorm

The offer in restaurants in Benidorm is wide and varied to concentrate a large number of places that offer food from the country and all corners of the world.
Although if there is a dish stands out above the rest is the delicious paella offered by restaurants such as J.Manu, Bar Mal Pas or Marisquería Córdoba, all located in the historic center.
